Alas, no Smashing Pumpkins. But don't despair, fans of 1996: Tool have stepped in to fill the headlining slot for day two of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, taking place April 29-30 at Empire Polo Field in Indio, California. As previously announced, Depeche Mode will headline the first day.

For the past few weeks, the Coachella lineup has been debated across the web, with one very convincing fake poster circulating on message boards and blogs. (No, "Lightning Bolts" and "Artic Monkeys" aren't playing. Neither are Lightning Bolt or Arctic Monkeys.)

Paul Tollett, the man in charge of Coachella's promotional front, told Billboard, "With all the fake lineups out there, it makes it hard when you actually do put a lineup out, especially when people are saying things like the Beatles and the pre-1965 Rolling Stones!"

While John Lennon, George Harrison, and Brian Jones won't be resurrected in the desert, a whole bunch of great living bands will appear. The real, official, honest-to-goodness lineup includes such notables as Franz Ferdinand, Sigur Ros, My Morning Jacket, Bloc Party, Cat Power, Lady Sovereign, TV on the Radio, Common, Art Brut, Damian Marley, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Tricky (where u been?), two Danger Mouse projects (Dangerdoom with MF Doom and Gnarls Barkley with Cee-Lo)...ah fuck it, here's the whole thing:
